Review: Fisher-Price Link-a-Doos 20 Link Pack Take Along Toy
Review: Fisher-Price Link-a-Doos 20 Link Pack Take Along Toy |
Fisher-Price Link-a-Doos 20 Link Pack Take Along Toy Posted: We got our first set of these as a gift, and bought a second set because they are so much more useful than the oval rings you can get from other manufacturers. Not only are the figures on the molded rings interesting and chewable for my son (now 13 months), but the round textured rings make excellent toy holders on the stroller bar, Baby Bjorn strap, backpack handle, diaper bag strap, etc. etc. etc. We take collections of toys and random binkies, all strung together on these amazingly durable rings, everywhere we go. We even leave the groupings linked together in the toy box, so Duncan can pull things out and manipulate the bunches, which he enjoys enormously. I highly recommend these rings for babies from 6 months to 2 years +. They are colorful, strong, flexible, and multi-purpose. |

Review: Melissa & Doug Deluxe Bug Jug Fill & Spill Soft Baby Toy
Review: Melissa & Doug Deluxe Bug Jug Fill & Spill Soft Baby Toy |
Melissa & Doug Deluxe Bug Jug Fill & Spill Soft Baby Toy Posted: This was a very cute baby gift although make sure you buy it for a baby. I made the mistake of buying it for my 1 year old nephew and he had no intrest in it and neither did the other kids his age. I would think that this toy would go over better with a baby around 6-9 months. |

Review: Melissa & Doug Toolbox Fill and Spill
Review: Melissa & Doug Toolbox Fill and Spill |
Melissa & Doug Toolbox Fill and Spill Posted: Melissa and Doug's Fill and Spill toolbox is a huge hit with both my granddaughter and grandson, 18 and 20 months of age, respectively. While the vibrating "power" drill was intriguing, they also enjoy "sawing" the Velcro-attached wood blocks apart and the other tools, too. I was very happy to find a safe and fun set of tools for young toddlers. |

Review: Mommy and Me Go to Swimming Lessons
Review: Mommy and Me Go to Swimming Lessons |
Mommy and Me Go to Swimming Lessons Posted: I live in a warm climate where swimming pools are not uncommon. My coworker recently bought a new home with a swimming pool. She has a small son and she was a little nervous because he is not used to being around water. She is a good friend, so I was looking for a gift that would ease her mind concerning her water worries. In my search for a gift I found Mommy and Me Go to Swimming Lessons. This book was just what I was looking for. Mommy and Me Go to Swimming Lessons is an excellent tool not only for parents, but for children. It is an excellent conversation starter for parents with young children to get them ready for swimming lessons. My coworker and her son enjoyed the book immensely and it made him excited and less nervous about his swimming lessons! |

Review: Infantino Twist and Fold Activity Gym, Vintage Boy
Review: Infantino Twist and Fold Activity Gym, Vintage Boy |
Infantino Twist and Fold Activity Gym, Vintage Boy Posted: I bought the "boy" version of the gym for my three-month-old girl because I needed a second gym that will be easy to transport when we are visiting family etc. My daughter LOVES it and it became our primary gym. If you are OK with the minor cons described below, this is the best deal around. PROS - My baby loved playing in it, the colors are wonderful and the toys are cute. She played in it till she was 4.5 months and then continued to play with the toys separately from the gym. It really helped her learn to roll over from her back to the tummy - Some people complain about the quality but I see no problems. Maybe they had defective models? The surface mat is thick and pleasant, I washed it according to the instructions and it is just fine. - Easy to assemble. Takes a minute of your time and is sturdy. - Compared to other models -- very compact when folded. I could take it with me when we go to a place she needs to spend an day with me outside home. - Lots of ways to hang the toys, two levels, and rings that allow you to hand other toys as well - Non breakable mirror included - It is both a pro and a con -- the mat is small (exactly as depicted in the pictures). So if you want something compact for your tiny living room it is perfect. I have no troubles with this. CONS (in the order I personally consider it as a problem): - You can wrap the mat around the toys and secure it with the strap. This is a great idea, but for some reason they designed it such that you must wrap the mat such that the upper side of the mat faces OUT -- to the dirt etc, while the side that lies on the floor will face the toys!... When I want to transport the gym, I end up wrapping the whole thing in another blanket to protect the mat from the outside world, and place the mat on this blanket so that the bottom side of the mat does not get dirty and then touch the toys when I pack it again. - It is not as compact as it appears from the picture that shows it folded. I took it with us when we had to stay over night outside home, but would not bring it with me for just an hour at friends, for example. - The rings design is hard to disassemble. So it takes a few extra minutes to hang or change the position of the toys. A bit annoying. - The faces of the animals appear only on one side. It is more realistic this way, but if you hang the toy the wrong way (or re-position the baby) the infant cannot see the faces. - It does not have a musical element but I am personally totally fine with this. Just to let you know -- no musical giraffes as some reviews sate. Nothing on batteries etc. - The mirror is a non-breakable, bending reflective surface. So the reflection is has an effect of a carnival mirror. But it is safe and still fun. - The gym arrived without one piece (the pillow) and Amazon allowed me to choose between partial refund or return/exchange of the gym. When I called the company they said they are out of these pillows but said they can send a different pillow that would not match the set, because they are out of these pillows. So they have great customer service and Amazon have generous policy, I just wish they could pack it all together at the first place. |

Review: Dwellstudio Wooden Puzzle, Owls
Review: Dwellstudio Wooden Puzzle, Owls |
Dwellstudio Wooden Puzzle, Owls Posted: I wanted to love this puzzle. I loved it online, and since I am not much of a fan of the Melissa and Doug brand, I thought this puzzle and the others by DwellStudio would be great. I have other Dwell Studio products so I thought this was sure to be a great puzzle. Pros: - Cute images - Shapes are easy to remove from the board. Cons: - We purchased two puzzles and BOTH arrived with smeared paint. Not a big deal, but I expected better from this company. - The colors are MUCH darker than you are seeing in the picture on Amazon. I know that monitors vary, blah blah, but honestly, the green looked light green or bright green in the picture and is actually much much darker. Overall the colors are darker and not bright and engaging, which is what you would want for a young child. Overall, I was very disappointed by the dark, drab colors and the smeared paint so I returned these puzzles. A bit sad, as I really loved them in the pictures online. |

Review: Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes
Review: Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes |
Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes Posted: I just bought this to take over for our soon-to-be adopted infant. I was very happy with the small size and weight (perfect for an infant to hold). But most of all, the sound quality is fantastic (and not too loud) - and not electronic sounding at all. And the tunes are all pleasing to the ear and not annoying kid versions. I will like listening to it as much as our son! |

Review: Sassy Pop N Push Car
Review: Sassy Pop N Push Car |
Posted: My 8 1/2 month old son just started playing with his new Sassy Pop N Push Car. It makes a great first car! I am glad I read the reviews because the picture does make it look bigger so this video will help you see the actual size. He is just rolling it back and forth, but if you roll it back it rolls forward on it's own. |

Review: Bright Starts Grab and Spin Rattle
Review: Bright Starts Grab and Spin Rattle |
Bright Starts Grab and Spin Rattle Posted: My twin sons were born 13 weeks premature and very slow in hitting milestones. This rattle was big motivation for both of them! The first toy both of them reached for and the first one for both to shake! They are 19 months old now, and still love when I give it to them in the car. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! |

Review: Baby Einstein Octoplush
Review: Baby Einstein Octoplush |
Posted: My daughter received this toy for Christmas. It quickly became a favorite of hers and therefore my husband's and mine as well. Baby girl is 9 months old now, and this guy keeps her entertained during diaper changes, toweling off after a bath, or anytime we need to put her down for a second to grab a diaper or a change of clothes. She has really put him through his paces and he holds up well. He's been spit up on, chewed remorselessly, even chucked into the diaper pail and he always comes out unscathed. |

Review: Melissa & Doug Deluxe Bug Jug Fill & Spill Soft Baby Toy
Review: Melissa & Doug Deluxe Bug Jug Fill & Spill Soft Baby Toy |
Melissa & Doug Deluxe Bug Jug Fill & Spill Soft Baby Toy Posted: My daughter is 9 months old and she loved the Melissa and Doug Fill and Spill Lunchbox so much that I bought her this as well. This is as good - maybe even better - than the lunch box. The bugs all have at least one "manipulative" element: - grasshopper - legs to grab, corduroy tummy, knotty antenna, crinkly wings, rattler - spider - lots of legs to grab, corduroy tummy, jingly thing - lady bug - crinkly wings, corduroy tummy, knotty antenna, squeeker - butterfly - crinkly wings, corduroy tummy, knotty antenna, rattler The "jar" also has a mesh fabric top (like a real bug jar) which is another sensory element that adds to the fun. My daughter loves pulling all the bugs out of the jar one by one and then offering them to my husband or I so she can have a free hand to pull out another one. This is my new go-to present for all 1st birthday parties! |

Review: Fisher-Price Link-a-Doos 20 Link Pack Take Along Toy
Review: Fisher-Price Link-a-Doos 20 Link Pack Take Along Toy |
Fisher-Price Link-a-Doos 20 Link Pack Take Along Toy Posted: I just got off the Fisher Price Customer Relations site and the person I was on with (Diana) would not answer my question about BPA, but kept insisting that Fisher Price has not manufactured Link-A-Doos toys since 2005(or 2007, she kept using both dates) and standards were different then, and that stores could sell the toys if they still had them. Why Amazon or any other store would still have them so many years later and all other questions were answered with similar statements, so I would say that, yes, these links do contain BPA. |

Review: Lamaze Play & Grow Freddie the Firefly Take Along Toy
Review: Lamaze Play & Grow Freddie the Firefly Take Along Toy |
Lamaze Play & Grow Freddie the Firefly Take Along Toy Posted: I have both the firefly and the turtle. Both have pros and cons. I prefer the turtle because of the large mirror on his belly. My newborn has been fascinated with this since she was a month old. The firefly mirror on the wing is too small to interest her even though she is now 3 months old. However, the tangling teether from the firefly should come in handy in another month or two. If you were to buy only one Lamaze for a newborn, I recommend the turtle for its nice size mirror. |

Review: Sassy Ring O' Links Rattle Developmental Toy
Review: Sassy Ring O' Links Rattle Developmental Toy |
Sassy Ring O' Links Rattle Developmental Toy Posted: I purchased 2 of these and use them for everything. Use them to attach infant toys to stroller bars, baby gyms, infant bar handles, shopping cart covers etc.... When baby gets oldler they are great for teething and playing. Around 12 months of age, they can start linking them themselves for a great fine motor skill game. Then when they are toddling around, you can use them to link cabinets together to prevent babies from opening them. Such a cheap must have item. Highly recommend!! |
